doing research, together

Helping people co-design and co-deliver medical research

As many healthcare professionals, consumers, carers and community members well know, there has long existed a gap between the desire to co-design and co-deliver health and medical research, and on the other hand, not having appropriate tools and knowledge to put this desire into action. doing research, together is an extensive resource that goes a long way to fill this gap. Building on a number of other existing resources (including NSW Health’s All of US), doing research, together helps researchers, consumers, carers, and health workers to work together.

The resources was co-created by people across the health community (including professionals, consumers, carers and community members), and led by KA McKercher of Beyond Sticky Notes, Sue Muller of Better Together Collective, and a great team at NSW Regional Health Partners.

Good Point Design was invited to design and illustrate these resources, bringing them to life with bright and colourful illustrations and simple, effective graphic design.

The resource includes a website, featuring illustrations and several tools, including editable documents to help people hold better meetings together, tips for planning how to work together, and key principles that are important throughout the whole research process.

Three key banner images visualise powerful metaphors for co-design and delivery: building together, walking along a pathway together, and writing a shared story.
